The VerriSteel technology ensures a high degree of safety on wild boar hunts. It is a flexible yet very tough knitted textile with a high tearing and puncture resistance. It is a protective layer of high-modulus polyethylene (HMPE), which is otherwise found in various forms of body armor.
VerriSteel is found in The Härkila Wildboar Pro trousers which have been tested by the authoritative German test institutes KWF (Das Kuratorium für Waldarbeit und Forsttechnik) and DPLF (Deutsche Prüf- und Zertifizierungsstelle für Land-und Forsttechnik). The two institutes have certified that the Wildboar Pro trousers are developed in accordance to the standard of the EN ISO 13688 and are tested and certified in accordance with the regulations (EU) 2016/425 that concerns personal protective clothing.
In plain words – these trousers protect against wild boar tusk stab wounds. But it is important to note that no safety equipment can give full protection against attacks. This is an innovative technology in a robust construction that both enhances adaptability and protects the hunter from the elements.
Protection against the elements
The Wildboar Pro trousers are comprised of 3-layers that in combination offer the wearer not only Protection against the elements but also protection against the wild boar stab wounds.
